overheard at publix:
son: mom, can we please get some brussells sprouts?!
while the kid wasn’t successful in convincing him mom to buy brussels sprouts, he was successful in convincing me!
i made them last night for dinner!
they were delicious! i could only eat two thirds of them. they were much bigger than they look in the picture (most of them were slightly smaller than a golf ball).
here’s how i made them:
- i steamed the brussels sprouts until they were tender
- then i dabbed each one in a little bit of dijon mustard
- then i rolled each one in a mixture of whole wheat bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and paprika
- i turned the toaster on “fan bake” and set it to 450 degrees and baked them for 15 minutes
